Nawalparasi, May 1: An international conference of the Muslims concluded in Nawalparasi on Saturday, calling for promoting inter-faith tolerance.

The religious assembly was organised by the Madarasa Gansiya Ehasanul Olum, Nawalparasi with the objective of promoting Islamic education and faith. Lawmaker Bikram Khanal inaugurated the conference on May 29, Friday.

On the occasion, he stressed the need for promoting religious tolerance in a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual and multi-cultural country like Nepal. He also contributed Rs 100 thousand to the conference, pledging Rs 200 thousand for the construction of the Chamantola Madarasa.

Muslim scholars from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Bangladesh, India and Nepal took part in the discourse in course of the conference. More than five thousand people attended the conference
