Minister
for
Information
and
Communications
Sherdhan
Rai
has
said
the
reconstruction
has
entered
a
new
and
important
phase
from
Sunday.
Inaugurating
a
photo
exhibition
at
Patan
Durbar
on
Sunday,
Minister
Rai,
who
is
also
the
Spokesperson
of
the
government,
said
although
it
took
some
time
to
gain
the
pace
of
reconstruction,
it
would
now
expedite
all
across
the
country.
According
to
him,
as
many
as
6,600
engineers
were
fanned
across
the
country
to
keep
the
record
of
damaged
structures.
Structure
of
public
importance
as
schools,
and
health
post
would
be
prioritized.
Moreover,
Minister
Rai
said
efforts
were
on
to
ensure
safe
shelters
to
the
earthquake
survivors
before
the
monsoon.
The
grant
of
Rs
200,000
to
per
household
was
also
being
distributed
to
the
people
for
the
reconstruction
of
their
houses.
He
praised
the
role
played
by
media
during
the
disaster.
On
the
occasion,
former
Minister
for
Information
and
Communications
Dr
Minendra
Rijal
expressed
hope
that
the
reconstruction
activities
would
be
expedited
as
per
the
people’s
aspiration.
