Nepalgunj, March 30: Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has stressed that the demands of Madhes agitation should be settled through dialogue.
At a press conference here on Wednesday, he said, “Nepal has ushered into a new era after promulgation of a new constitution. We all should join hands to the pathway to prosperity and economic development”.
The old political mind-sets could not drive the country to a new journey for the benefits of the country and people, the former prime minister said, adding the stable political and social development could be possible only through new force, new thoughts and enthusiasm.
On a query, he replied that Nepal should strike delicate balance between India and China to protect its existence while stressing the need for Nepal to benefit from the economic prosperity of both the neighbours.
Dr Bhattarai, also the coordinator of New Force, said the existing disputed problems should be sorted out even by making amendments to the constitution.
