Lalitpur, March 24: National Planning Commission member Dr Sumitra Amatya has said that the National Reconstruction Authority has started post-quake reconstruction works.
Inaugurating a day-long Post-Earthquake Settlement conference organised here today by the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Amatya stressed that the Authority should carry out works in an effective manner to win the heart of quake survivors.
She expressed the view that there would be long-term development if reconstruction task is carried out implementing, ‘One city one identity’ plan.
Similarly, NAST Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jibraj Pokharel said that the NAST has been carrying out work coordinating with different organisations working in national and international sector for the development of science and technology.
Pokharel stressed that all sides should support immediately for the resolution of problems faced by quake survivors and their resettlement.
He further said that it was necessary to make people known about the concrete plan regarding mapping of quake-resistant houses.
On the occasion, Amatya also released a book titled ‘Kathmandu Architecture and Environment’ written by Dr Bhaktananda Bajracharya.
