Kathmandu, March 23: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Bhim Rawal has said various fresh agreements reached between Nepal and China has paved the way for grasping further opportunities to attain economic progress.
Speaking at a face-to-face programme organised by the Reporters’ Club here Wednesday, the Deputy Prime Minister said presently, Nepal is making business with the third countries via Indian territory; and the fresh agreement with China has allowed the country to have trade with third countries via the northern neighbour which would bring benefits for country in long term.
Nepal is independent and sovereign country and it can import petroleum products from any country as per its necessity. Only technical barriers were there that made the signing of a fuel trade deal between China and Nepal not possible at present. Both parties are positive for the signing of the deal and it will take place in the near future, he said.
Nepal is committed to further strengthening of its relations with neighbours being based on the principles of Panchasheel, mutual interests and benefits.
CPN (UML) Vice Chair Rawal further argued that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s visits to India and China is turned fruitful for the sake of country. RSS
