Udayapur: A person was killed and three others injured seriously when a passenger minibus skidded off the road and plunged some 15 meters down at Saune VDC-1 in Udayapur at 6 am today morning.
Shradha Rai, 19, of Batase-4 in Khotang district died on the spot while three others including the driver Bishnu Kumar Rai and Dewan Rai injured in the accident were rushed to hospital, police said.
The bus (Ba 2 Kha 7656) with 15 passengers on board including the deceased and injured was heading to Khotang from Gaighat when the accident occurred.
Most of the passengers were heading towards their home to celebrate Hindu festival, Dashain.
Police, however, said that other passengers were safe. Superintendent of Police Gobinda Kumar Sah said that a police team was sent to the accident site for rescue operation. RSS
