Janakpurdham, Sept 9: Property worth Rs 4.5 million belonging to the Nepali Congress Dhanusha district office was damaged in the arson attack by the United Madhesi Front protesters last Tuesday.
Nepali Congress Dhanusha District president Ram Saroj Yadav shared this information speaking in a press conference organised by Nepal Press Union Dhanusha.
Yadav said the furniture, almirah, fax machine, computers and other gadgets were completely destroyed in the arson attack. The fire also damaged the office building.
He denounced the attack labeling it anarchic and apolitical. He added that the Front supporters targeted the NC district office although the party’s leaders and cadres in the district have been supporting and showing positive response in their own manner to the movement for establishing the Madhes issues.
He also criticized the local administration for failing to prevent the arson attack at the party office. RSS
