Dhangadhi, Aug. 7: Normal life in the districts of the far-west region has been affected from early this morning today due to an indefinite shutdown organised to protest the political parties’ plan to split Kailali district from the far-west region in the federal set up.

Vehicular movement, industries and educational institutions have been shut down, throwing the normal life out of gear.

Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), UCPN (Maoist), RPP-Nepal and other political parties have backed the demand for the indivisible far-west region while federating the country in the new constitution.

Meanwhile, different Hindu organisations have also called a strike in Inaruwa, the district headquarters of Sunsari, demanding for a Hindu state in the new constitution. They have also demanded not to put the provision of a secular state in the new constitution. RSS
