Parbat, Aug 6: A suspension bridge over Modikhola near Kushmabazaar in the district headquarters of Parbat has been repaired after six years.
The bridge constructed some six decades ago was repaired by changing old lumber and wire with Rs 320,000 financial support from the District Development Committee (DDC). Pilgrims in the river, people of 10 VDCs in Parbat district and some VDCs in Syangja district have been benefitted after the maintenance of the suspension bridge.
Local resident Haridas Bairagi said that the mission of bridge repair was accomplished after their tireless efforts. “The bridge was repaired as we visited the DDC office for five years,” he added.
Some years ago, four horses had fallen off the river with goods while crossing the bridge as it was in dilapidated condition. RSS
