Kathmandu : U-19 Nepali cricket team has left for Malaysia today to participate in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier to be held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Office-bearers of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bade farewell to the 14-member cricket team at a program organized by the CAN in the Capital today.

Five countries – Nepal, the United States of America, Ireland, Uganda and Papua New Guinea – will take part in the tournament scheduled to take place from October 14 to 23.

Nepal is scheduled to take on Papua New Guinea in its first match in the tournament on October 15 and Uganda in its second match a day later.

In 2014, Nepal became first runner up in ICC U19 Premier League held in Malaysia.

The winner of the tournament will be selected for the U19 World Cup Championship to be held in Bangladesh next year. RSS
